Terms of Service

Welcome to ChoresMates! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ChoresMates mobile application (the "App") operated by SlowCookedApps ("we", "our", or "us").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

1.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

1.2 Account Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

1.3 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload content that is offensive, inappropriate, or violates others' rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

2. Subscriptions and Payments

2.1 Free Trial

New users receive a free trial period to explore the App's features. The trial is limited by time and/or usage as specified in the App.

2.2 Subscription Plans

ChoresMates Pro is available through monthly or yearly subscription plans. Subscription features include:

• Unlimited chore logging
• Unlimited groups
• Data export (CSV and PDF)
• Custom app accent colors
• Home screen widgets
• Siri Shortcuts integration

2.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's terms and conditions for in-app purchases.

2.4 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

2.5 Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted to Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

2.6 Family Sharing

ChoresMates Pro subscriptions support Apple Family Sharing. Family members can access Pro features without a separate subscription when Family Sharing is enabled.

3. User Content

3.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create or upload to the App, including profile photos and activity images. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that content to provide the App's services.

3.2 Content Guidelines

You are responsible for ensuring your content:

• Does not violate any laws or regulations
• Does not infringe on others' intellectual property rights
• Is not harmful, threatening, or harassing
• Is appropriate for all audiences

3.3 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, without prior notice.

4. Groups and Collaboration

4.1 Group Creation and Management

Users can create and join groups to collaborate on chore management. Group administrators have additional permissions including member management and group settings.

4.2 Invitations

You may invite others to join your groups via email. You agree to only invite people you know and who have consented to receive such invitations.

4.3 Data Sharing Within Groups

When you join a group, other group members can see your name, profile photo, chore completions, and points within that group.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Rights

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is owned by SlowCookedApps and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.

5.2 Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions about the App, you grant us the right to use that feedback without compensation or attribution.

6. Disclaimers

6.1 "As Is" Service

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

6.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible for any loss of data or service interruptions.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SlowCookedApps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SlowCookedApps and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

9. Account Termination

9.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Account deletion will result in permanent removal of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

9.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the App.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting an update in the App or sending you an email. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SlowCookedApps regarding your use of the App.
